hand-sculpted lizard seems poised to scamper away as it perches on the edge of a wheel-thrown earthenware bowl

To capture the motion and crashing waves the artist combined oil paint and oil sticks with cold wax to capture the movement of the water on the rocks
After the piece is fired it is finished with patinas and then woven on the rim with pine needles
